Join us for an unforgettable discovery retreat in India. India is a land of contrast: rich in culture, religions, and languages. It is the most visited country for those seeking spirituality and healing. There is so much to experience in India and we would like to offer you a taste of this diversity. This journey will take you to Delhi, Agra, Dharamsala, Amritsar, & Kashmir.
During the entire journey we will practice yoga, meditation, pranayama, and experience different healing modalities, such as: nature walks, reiki, massages, reflexology, and sound healing. This retreat offers a taste of different cultures and religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam). We will visit major spiritual sites and will have a chance to speak to locals about their daily lives. We believe that the more you learn about others, the more you learn about yourself.
Itinerary:
Our adventure will start in Delhi. We will greet you at the airport. Check-in starts at 3pm. During the afternoon, we take the time to learn about each other and relax after a long flight. After dinner, we will do some sleep yoga to release the tension of the long flight.
On the 2nd day, we will fly to Dharamsala (elevation 4,780 ft). From the airport we will visit Kangra Fort. After lunch, we will take a 40 minute ride to McLeod Ganj (elevation 6,831 ft), the place where the Dalai Lama resides since he was forced to flee from Tibet in 1959. We will stay in McLeod for a few days where we will have different experiences, including: yoga, meditation, beautiful nature walks, Reiki, Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing, Ayurvedic Massage, reflexology, visits to cultural sites, and, of course, a visit to the temple where the Dalai Lama resides. We will also have a chance to speak to a Tibetan monk and ask questions regarding Buddhism and his journey to enlightenment.
On day 6, we will take a 4-hour car ride to Amritsar (715 ft elevation) and visit the Golden Temple. The Golden Temple is considered to be the most spiritual shrine for Sikhs, and for the Jallianwala Bagh, an important historic garden. We will spend the night in Amritsar.
On day 7 we will fly to Srinagar (elevation 5,200 ft), the capital of Jammu & Kashmir, where we will stay until day 12. Kashmir is known in India as Heaven on Earth for its beautiful sceneries. We will stay in a traditional handcrafted houseboat in Dal Lake. Our journey coincides with the famous tulip season, so we will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the tulips in our visits to the Mughal Gardens in a Shikara (traditional Kashmiri boat). We will walk around downtown and take a day trip outside Srinagar (elevation 8,900 ft). During our stay in Kashmir, we will also practice yoga, meditation, healing sessions and have conversations about Kashmir culture and religion. This is also where we will learn about walnut wood carvings, pashminas and silk carpets.
On day 12 we will fly back to Delhi where we will take a train ride to the famous Taj Mahal. This mausoleum is a true marvel of art and architecture. It was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631 in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
We will spend day 13 in Delhi, where we will visit different sites and where you will also have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs.
On day 14 (April 29), Airport transfer will be provided. Time to say goodbye to our new friends and always look forward to meeting again soon.
We look forward to seeing you in Delhi!
